Exterior
Your home- probably your biggest investment. Failed paint and caulk are one of the largest contributors to rotted wood and masonite, leading to a lower market value, or at the least hiring a Carpenter for rot replacement, and then painting it. So proper maintenance is essential to ‘stay on top of things’. Preparing the work surface is everything, if mold and mildew are present, I remove it with a bleach/water solution. If excessively dirty, I powerwash it. Sometimes a good sanding is sufficient. It just depends on the job. I caulk all cracks, not just for waterproofing, but it also makes the joint airtight, reducing drafts. If your home is in need of a little TLC, I patch holes with automotive-grade bondo, harder than the surrounding wood. Where required I use bonding primer before top-coating. It’s as simple as this: if the surface is not prepared properly, it is bound to fail. As you know, the weather dishes out the extremes here- from snow and freezing rain to heat, hail, and high humidity. Thats why I use only the best in materials. Sherwin Williams ‘Duration’ and Brod-Dugan ‘Acrylastic’, which are my favorites. All my work comes with a 1 year warranty. I’m proud to say not a single client has ever had to use it.
